If I
elevate it at your cost,
My
heritage remains
No more
prestigious than yours,
If I
elevate it without elevating yours,
For my
heritage is yours!
It was not me who built
the castles,
Sawed the tapestries, composed the music,
Brought
about the revolutions, and inventions,
It was
not me to create the literature,
To show
you off my glory,
When
compared to the weak!
To show
you off my heritage of nation
Created
for the sake of mankind.
From the
individual to another,
The
literature, monuments and arts,
Gives
meaning to my presence,
That
gives meaning to my life!

Lida
Sherafatmand
is a a painter/artist and teaches Art to
children in schools.
The main themes of her paintings are Human Rights
and Peace.
She says" Painting, like any other branch of the arts,
is a calling, a way of life. It is a vocation to
observe beauty and to capture
it in a picture by means of some paint and a brush. It is realized in the
creation
of or co-creation of a beautiful picture that can
touch, and move other human beings.
A true work of art reflects the soul of the artist
who creates it, and the aesthetic
experience of the viewer, on taking in the work of
art, sterns from his/her inner being too.
Thus through the work of art a deep exchange takes
place, a unique sort of interplay.
One could even speak of an inter-communication which
is universal, since it transcends
language barriers, cultural, and even historical
differences, since works of art created
centuries ago may still appeal to and be appreciated by persons living
today.
