DfES and Actionwork
During 2004 and 2005
Actionwork has been working with the
Department for Education and Skills (DfES)
making an anti-bullying film.
At the request of the
Government Actionwork got together a group
of young people, trained them up in
facilitation skills and basic camera and
filming techniques, then toured all over the
country with them to primary and secondary
schools.
The
young people ran workshops, created scenes
and interviewed over 1000 young people on
camera. This has been edited in to a short
film which will be made available by the
Government later in the year. This film in
addition to being an anti-bullying resource
is also an evaluation of the 'Make The
Difference' Conferences run by the DfES in
2004
This film is from a young
people's perspective for young people. More
details, including how to obtain a copy will
be provided soon.
All schools will get a free copy
of the film on DVD
In Addition to the
film, the 'Making The Difference' DVD
also contains a 'Resource' section,
Anti-Bullying Alliance information, A
DfES Regional Anti-Bullying Conferences
history, information on Actionwork
programmes and 2 anti bullying short
films.
The 'Making The
Difference' DVD is available free from
